Peter Lindley Marsh

Peter passed away peacefully at the Countess of Chester Hospital on Thursday 23rd July 2026, aged 81 years.

Beloved Husband of Elaine, loving Dad to Iain and Rachael, and cherished Grandfather to Alexandra, Michael and Millie. Peter will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Elaine would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Respiratory High Dependency Unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion they gave to Peter, and to the team at Kelsall Medical Centre for their dedicated support throughout his illness. Radfield Home Care also provided him with companionship and friendship, an essential part of his support, for which the family is deeply grateful.

Some may know Peter from the Overton Probus Club, Frodsham, where he was an active and enthusiastic member until his health prevented regular attendance in recent years.

A private service will be held for immediate family only. At a later date, there will be an opportunity for Peter’s many friends to come together, celebrate his life, and share their stories. Details will be announced in due course.

Am going to miss our chats over a cup of tea Pete even though you have told me the same story a thousand times I would listen like it was my first time a lovely man and a friend 😥

Dear Elaine and family, All your friends at Overton Hill Probus Club are very sad to hear of Peter’s death. Peter was a great supporter of the club and contributed to its ongoing success over many years. Our thoughts are with you and your family, regards Clive Jones Past President OHPC

RIP Peter my friend Love to you all at this sad time X

Remembering a true gentlemen and friend Peter who will be greatly missed

Loved your company Peter and will certainly miss you. I was so saddened the last time we had dinner and you said ‘lovely to meet you Helen’ but so incredibly blessed that we got to share these special moments with you. Love to you all at this very difficult time. God bless x

To the Marsh Family, Peter was a very decent and humble gentleman man. I enjoyed working with him and always found him to be good company and at times, hilariously funny. He shall be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

So sad to learn that Peter, my first and oldest friend, has died. My heartfelt condolences to Elaine and her family.
