Carol Ann Penlington

Carol passed away peacefully at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd on Friday 12th June 2026, aged 80 years.

Beloved wife of Alfie, a loving Mum to Mark and Sarah. Mother-in-Law to Dawn and Kevin. Nanny Carol to Luke, Jess, Abi, Hannah, Jake and Joe. Carol was adored by her Great-Grandchildren, Henry, Elliott, Leo, Zac, Rosie, Soraya, Henrik and Sonny. Bonus Great-Grandma to Kyran and Amira.

Carol will be so dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

The family would like to thank all of the staff on Ward 43 and Ward 60 at the Countess of Chester Hospital for the care they provided to Carol. A special thank you also goes to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd for making Carol’s final days as comfortable as possible.

Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday 8th July 2026 at 10:00am at Chester Crematorium.

Carol was a lovely lady, we had some laughs at the social club bingo. Mostly directed at Barbara. So funny. RIP our lovely friend xxxx

I have known Carol for nearly 19 years as her hairdresser and we were really close. We talked about everything and put the world to rights! She helped me through some tough times and we had a load of laughs along the way! Carol i will miss you so much😢 You were an angel down here and you will be an angel up there. Rest in peace my lovely friend❤️

I absolutely adored Carol, such a beautiful human inside and out. I have so many wonderful memories including the parties and christmases, and the port and lemons!! I will raise a glass of port (or two) in honour of you, sleep tight Cazza, lots of love from Shelley & Colin xxx
